Chile is the world’s largest COPPER producer. This metal is its main export product and also the main wealth for the country.

COPPER is one of the most well-known metals in nature, and it has been one of the most used by man throughout history. It is possible to see copper in several domestic applications and also in high tech devices.

In Chile, COPPER extraction is carried out by several mining companies such as: Chuquicamata, El Teniente, El Salvador, Escondida and Collahuasi.

** LAPISLAZULI
Chile has one of the only two deposits in the world where it is possible to get the LAPISLAZULI stone. The other deposit is located in Afghanistan. Our deposit is called Flor de los Andes, and is the largest in the world (3,600 m high), in the Cordillera de Ovalle.

LAPISLAZULI is a semi-precious stone which contains golden sparkling dots of pyrite. Its shortage, stability in time, and color nobility make lapislazuli a highly prized and popular stone.

3. Acknowledgement as sponsors of the Poster Session included in the program and website.
